Effective Task Management with PLAIO

PLAIO’s task management is designed to optimise workflow and foster collaboration across teams. Whether you are assigning follow-ups on forecast changes, tracking production actions, or managing purchasing decisions, tasks stay visible, actionable, and in context.

Where tasks live

Tasks are reachable through several entry points:

• Directly from worksheet rows, using right-click
• From the line-level detail view
• From the central Task Overview

Every task carries a title, due date, status, assignee, and comment history. Tasks can be linked to specific SKUs, planning records, or exceptions, so you can navigate from a task straight to the relevant data.

Task Overview

Open Task Overview from the left-hand navigation. It shows every task, including those:

• Assigned to you
• Created by you

From here you can:

• View and manage tasks — click any task to open a pop-up where you can update details, change status, and add or review comments.
• Open related worksheets — in the Task Information tab, click the navigation icon to jump to the related worksheet. If a specific line is assigned, it is highlighted.

Tasks inside worksheets

PLAIO embeds tasks directly within its worksheets, so you can manage work in context — review, complete, or delegate without switching views.

All tasks, wherever they were created, sync to the Task Overview for full visibility.

Managing a task

Clicking a task opens a pop-up with three areas:

• Task detail — change the title, status, and due date, add a description, and assign the task.
• Comments — add new comments and read previous ones.
• Task information — see when the task was created and last updated, and by whom.

Open related worksheet — click the navigation icon to go to the related worksheet; if a line is assigned, it is highlighted.

Right-click options

Right-clicking a task lets you:

• Task Detail — view and manage the task
• Go to item — navigate to the related worksheet and highlight the assigned line
• Complete task / Reopen task — close open tasks or reopen closed ones
• Delete Task
• Create new task
• Copy — copy the selected cell (Ctrl+C, or Cmd+C on macOS)
• Copy with headers — copy the selected cell together with its column title

Managing tasks in PLAIO ensures nothing falls through the cracks. With everything linked to the right line, worksheet, or dashboard, you always know what needs doing and where to do it. Make task tracking part of your routine — it is the mechanism that turns exceptions into resolved problems.
