Daily Activities — Worksheets, Graphs, Views & the Action Button

Worksheets are the core of your daily planning and data management. The Action Button and the interactive charts let you control your view, export your data, and explore visual insight.

Worksheet layout

Every worksheet is divided into three areas:

• Data Grid — your central workspace, where rows of data are displayed and edited.
• Filters Panel — a sidebar on the left that filters data by any column.
• Details Section — appears when a row is selected and shows more specific information.

Clicking a row activates the Details Section with more context: task lists, demand insight, or product breakdowns. Press the space bar to deselect a row.

Row actions

Right-clicking any row reveals:

• Create New Task — opens a task modal linked to that row’s context.
• Copy / Copy with Headers — copies the selected values.
• Chart Range — visualises the data as a bar or line chart.

Column options and layout control

Right-clicking a column lets you:

• Sort ascending or descending
• Pin the column left or right
• Group by this column
• Auto-size the current column or all columns
• Show or hide specific columns via Choose Columns
• Reset to the default column layout
• Expand or collapse all row groups

Grouping data

Grouping categorises similar items so you can compare values, spot trends, and simplify planning. Grouping by several columns combines factors for more precise decisions.

Right-click a column and choose Group by X. For multiple groupings, drag the additional columns into the group area above the columns.

Chart views

Interactive charts support zooming, resetting, and toggling series. Click any row to view its charts; press the space bar to remove the chart from view.

Toggle data series — show or hide a series by clicking its legend entry. Hidden series appear faded in the legend, letting you compare specific parts of the data without clutter.

Quick statistics — select any group of numeric cells to see totals, averages, and trends instantly, without exporting or calculating manually. Click and drag over a section of a chart to aggregate a specific time period or data slice. Right-click selected cells to create quick charts.

Change history

PLAIO tracks manual edits to worksheet data, providing a change log of planning decisions: what changed, who changed it, and when.

Changes are displayed at row level, showing old and new values for edited fields. This documents planning adjustments for compliance and lets teams understand how a plan evolved. Change History is reachable from worksheet rows, so you can review an item’s history without leaving your current context.

Action Button utilities

The Action Button sits at the top-right corner of every worksheet:

• Refresh Data — reloads the worksheet with the latest updates.
• Export to Excel — downloads the current grid view as an .xlsx file.
• Auto-Size All Columns — adjusts column widths for optimal display.
